Have you ever wondered why Koreans have beautiful and glowing skin? That is down to Korea’s cultural love for beautiful and healthy skin, backed up by years of scientific research. Although it might seem broader than what you are familiar with before, we encourage you to simple follow along – and not get discouraged at all.
We have broken down the 10 step skincare routine, and explained it a manner that you can relate with to fit your needs. The goal is to look healthy and have a glowing skin.
1. Oil Cleanser
The first step of Korean Skincare regimen requires you to use an oil cleanser to get rid of the makeup and dirt on your face. You simply massage the oil cleanser on your dry face and neck to dissolve dirt and/or makeup. Then sprinkle some moderately warm water to emulsify the massaged cleanser. Apply the cleanser and rub again, then wash everything off.
2. Water-based Cleanser
Follow the above step by washing your face with water to get rid of any impurities and residue that is left after using an oil cleanser.
Exfoliation is the process by which one removes the dry/dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, this is also one of the most important aspects of your any skincare routine for face and body. This often skipped out step helps combat many skin problems, and it also increases blood circulation, which in turn helps you to achieve healthy and glowing skin
4. Skin Toner
Visualise your skin as a sponge, this makes it difficult to moisturize after it has dehydrated and hardened than when it is slightly wet. Toners balance the skins pH levels and moisturises it. Using toners also aids the absorption of any beauty products that is applied after it.
5. Facial Essence
This is a blend of both toner and serum. It helps to hydrate and regenerate the skin cell, which gives a youthful appearance.
6. Face Ampoule
Due to its similarity with serums, ampoule contains a high number of active ingredients that help remove skin imperfections such as sagging, dehydration, wrinkles etc.
7. Face Serum
This product is a concentrated version of essence and contains active ingredients. It helps to treat skin concerns such as acne, wrinkles, dehydration, tired and aged skin, dark spots, sagging etc.
8. Eye cream
The skin around the eye is at its thinnest and easily dehydrated. For these reasons, it is important to apply an eye cream that is made to nourish, protect and hydrate the eye every day.
Moisturizers are specifically formulated to develop a barrier that will keep in all the useful ingredients applied on the skin, rather than allowing them to melt out of the skin. So rub a moisturizer on the skin to keep it hydrated all day long.
Sunscreen was designed to prevent premature aging of the skin and skin cancer. Applying it on the skin every morning and reapplying it all day long helps protect the skin against ultra-violet rays that cause wrinkles, sagging and dark spots.
